What Sherlock is for

Checking, before meeting someone, that they are who they say they are. Finding out whether the photos someone uses belong to a different person. Learning whether your own image is being used on profiles that are not yours.

What is forbidden

  • Employment, credit, housing or insurance decisions.
  • Locating someone who cut contact, or anyone protected by a court order.
  • Harassment, stalking, public exposure or blackmail.
  • Reselling results, building databases or automating at scale.
  • Photographs of minors.

A working rule

Ask what you would do if the search confirmed your suspicion. If the honest answer is “protect myself and stop”, you are on the right side of the line. If it involves reaching the person, stop before you search.

Contact: support@sherlocksearch.id. Write to us about your account, billing, data deletion or removal of an image. We reply in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
